David E Hobson

Who is or is it was David Evans Hobson.  He was our first born; he was a big brother and best friend to Lindsay.  He was born July 31, 1974 and died March 11, 2000.  He was 25. I’ll never forget those first few weeks of kindergarten.  Each day he would fall asleep on the way home!

At first you might consider him reserved; but really he just needed to get to know you.  His friends were friends for life.  He loved the outdoors – the beach and golf top the list.  Lacrosse was his favorite team sport where he could achieve success individually and as a team.  A scholarship in David’s memory is given to a graduating senior from Loudoun County High School.

He loved our ‘family week at the beach’ – spending time with his grand parents, aunts and uncles and cousins of all ages.  He loved fireworks, Bart Simpson and Pink Floyd.  He liked steak, chicken and pork chops, and from an early age it was ‘no to casseroles!’

He attended Woodstock in 1994.  One day I was going to toss out an ‘old pair of tennis shoes’ and I was told ‘no way’ as those were the shoes he wore to Woodstock.  So when it came time to decide what he should wear after he died, I decided his favorite suit and his Woodstock tennis shoes (because you know I could never throw them away)!

Could we fill the page about David?  Yes.  Do we miss him – every day – and love him even more.
